This scholarship is awarded to a student who shows skills in motivating.

This scholarship is awarded for exceptional community service. The student
shows they are a leader and able to give time to a worthwhile cause. Many

SARAH CARTER SCHOLARSHIP
Sarah Carter was the first and only Black female elected to the Anne
Arundel County Council. She devoted her life to service in the Anne
Arundel County Community. Sarah Carter became a politician after fighting
to secure better medical care for her oldest daughter. The Sarah Carter
Scholar has demonstrated tenacity across all categories and has determined
that she will follow Sarah Carter’s example to ensure equity in medicine for
Black women and babies.
